Paisley Fish at Shift Gallery

Last summer my boyfriend and I decided to populate a non-functional backyard swimming pool with a few hundred goldfish. Obsessively, we watched them swim and grow. Their progress became our primary form of entertainment. Their movements filled my waking and sleeping thoughts. I started to draw and paint them. In doing so my Indian cultural roots emerged and the fish took the form of decorative paisley pattern.
